Six years ago I lost my wife and seven beautiful children due to my bad habits and lack of surrender. When I first heard of the Astoria Rescue Mission and Wrex Cruse I was at the end of my rope and in the hands of a psychologist. He put me on heavy medication and made an appointment for me to talk with Wrex. Wrex said I could come to the Mission and I believe it saved my life. After a short time at the Mission I did not need my medication anymore.

I have come back to the Mission three times over the last six years and this time I finally learned surrender. Now God has reunited me with my children and taken the desire for drugs and alcohol out of my life. I will be leaving the Mission to live with my children, but I will never forget this sanctuary and will always be grateful for it.
